What is wastage?
When working out how much flooring to buy, it's important to add on a bit extra. This is because each room is unique in its size and shape and often you'll have to cut several boards to accommodate this. This extra allowance is known as 'wastage'.

Grades Explained
Rustic planks contain knots, imperfections and colour variation found in natural wood. Any open knots and imperfections will be filled in, giving your floor an aged wood effect.
Prime wood contains minimal colour variation and knots, making it the ultimate choice for a clean, uniform finish.

Description
This lacquered, engineered oak product has been pre-finished with seven layers of pearl satin lacquer giving it ample protection while maintaining the timber’s knots and natural imperfections beneath the shiny surface.
Each plank has a width of 190mm (19cm) and a length of 1900mm (190cm) making product Studley Spring Oak 190 x 14/3mm a fixed length product (FL). A plank width of 190mm is considered a fairly wide plank width – ideal for open plan spaces and/or larger rooms within your household.
190mm Pearl Satin Lacquered Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring 14/3mm Thick hasan overall thickness of 14mm with a 3mm wear layer (real oak). This floor can be sanded down up to 4 times in total, however this shouldn't be necessary for the first 15-20 years or so.
Multi-ply backed engineered flooring is extremely resilient to temperature and humidity changes, which makes it well suited for use over under floor heating systems; both electrical and water based. Due to the thickness of this product (14mm) the under floor heat transfer will be near its maximum efficiency when coupled with a low tog underlay. Please see our accessories section for more information on the underlays we offer.
Here at Luxury Flooring, all our oak is sourced from a sustainable European forestry ensuring the best quality timber whilst safeguarding the future supply and most importantly, the environment.
The grading of this engineered oak product is ABC meaning there will be some knots and natural imperfections on the surface of the planks, as you would expect with any natural wood product.
Unlike solid oak products, engineered flooring is relatively easy to lay. We recommend using secret nailing as your method of installation when it comes to this floor.
If you require any matching accessories for your project, please see our accessories section above where we offer thresholds, beading and other accessories in the same lacquered finish.
