What is wastage?
When working out how much flooring to buy, it's important to add on a bit extra. This is because each room is unique in its size and shape and often you'll have to cut several boards to accommodate this. This extra allowance is known as 'wastage'.

Grades Explained
Rustic planks contain knots, imperfections and colour variation found in natural wood. Any open knots and imperfections will be filled in, giving your floor an aged wood effect.
Prime wood contains minimal colour variation and knots, making it the ultimate choice for a clean, uniform finish.

Description
Our Studley Orchard Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring – Product code EO2003 - has a total thickness of 14mm with a 3mm solid hardtop wear layer. This product comes in random lengths between 300-1500mm with a width of 180mm.
This product is lightly brushed and then finished with a UV oil. The oil is applied during the manufacturing process and the flooring is then placed under UV lights to speed up the drying process. As opposed to natural oil, UV oiled flooring does not need another coat of oil once it has been installed.
Each plank has a 4V Groove, bevelled edge giving each plank more individual definition. This floor can be sanded down up to 4 times, however it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years.
This flooring is known as a rustic grade, meaning that the planks have more knots and imperfections which gives the product more character and can add warm depth to the room. This grade has seen a huge rise in interest over recent years and has since become the most popular grade in the wood flooring industry.
